My First Vegan Thanksgiving
My family and I had our first vegan thanksgiving. It was delicious dinner. We had some non vegans over and they enjoyed dinner too.
We were so excited to try the Gardein Holiday Roast but it was sold out at 3 stores. (Sucks we missed out, but I'm happy to hear more people are choosing the meatless option) For our main we got Gardein Turk'y Cutlets. They were really good. Also with dinner we had stuffing, roasted veggies, mash potatoes and gravy, rolls and homemade cranberry sauce. Appetizers before dinner was a fruit and veggie plate with homemade hummus. Now on to my favorite part DESSERT! We attempted to make my great-grandma's pecan pie recipe vegan but had some issues. It was very soupy and didn't firm up. But, Once we figure it out I'm going to make a blog post for it, because it's the best pecan pie recipe ever! We also had pumpkin pie, apple crisp (blog coming soon), Oreo truffles and homemade ice cream. All vegan. All so good!
Starting next year I'm going to start incorporating vegan recipes onto my blog. I want to show people you can eat all the same foods you eat now and not have to harm any animals in the process. With that said, I'm not going to shame you if you eat meat (it's your choose as it is mine to not eat it so don't shame me.) but I want to help people think a different way and maybe try it. Who knows you may like it. Veganism is great for your health, environment, and animals.
